Day 1 – Collaboration and Creativity

Fabienne Ruault opened the meeting with an overview of FoodEducators’ mission and cutting-edge research on food literacy. Teachers actively reviewed and refined lesson plans covering Local & Seasonal Food, Sustainable Food Trucks and Ultra-Processed Foods & Sugar, ensuring they meet practical classroom needs. Ana Belén Yuste Martínez and Angeliki Liapi energized the group with a playful Food  Escape Room, demonstrating how gamified learning fosters engagement and teamwork. Viktoria Soos led a powerful social media workshop, empowering teachers to amplify their impact as food education influencers. Katarzyna Woźnicka offered rich insights into the importance of fruits and vegetables through a blend of science and history. The day ended with a hands-on cooking and networking dinner at CookUp, celebrating traditional Polish pierogi and seasonal ingredients.

Day 2 – Exploration and Vision

The group visited the University of Warsaw Botanical Garden, exploring edible heritage crops and the benefits of garden-based learning. Natalie Taylor showcased how FoodEducators’ lesson plans can support English as a Foreign Language learners, opening new collaborative pathways. Afternoon sessions led by Fabienne Ruault and Keren Dalyot focused on co-creating a future roadmap for teacher engagement and exploring forward-thinking scenarios for food education—emphasizing adaptability to evolving societal and digital trends.
