When students understand food, they grow into informed, mindful, and resilient consumers. It is not enough knowing what’s on their plates. In order to create a healthier and more sustainable future, students need to understand where food comes from, how it’s grown, its nutritional value, and the social and environmental impact of what we eat.
FoodEducators is a EIT Food programme that provides teachers with fun, creative and interesting activities to engage young people, mainly schoolchildren. Our easily accessible, science-based food education materials enhance students' learning so they can become better informed, conscious future consumers.
FoodEducators School Network is a network of schools in Europe contributing to the transformation of healthier and more sustainable food systems by instilling awareness, knowledge and food literacy in their institutions with the support of FoodEducators.

By signing up to be a member, you will have access to:
Food Education Materials. FoodEducators offers learning resources and materials (lesson plans, activity booklets, posters) in 16 languages and across four topics: Food & Health, Food & Sustainability, Food Science & Food Systems, Agrifood Jobs & Careers.
Our materials are versatile and can be used in a traditional classroom setting or as extracurricular activities, e.g. during food-related special days (such as the World Food Day), project weeks or summer camps.
Professional Development for Teachers. The programme offers online and offline teacher training in 15 languages and English-language webinars to support professional development around the topic of food.
National contact points. FoodEducators offers you a national point of contact in 15 European countries.
Networking Opportunities for Schools. Member schools are offered yearly networking webinars to support them in building their international network.
Certifications and Badges. The programme offers certification for teachers and badges for member schools so that they can promote their food-related activities and commitment to the food topic towards various stakeholders (e.g. parents, municipalities, government, etc.).
Becoming a member of the school network is easy:
Appoint a Coordinating Teacher. The coordinating teacher is the one registering the school in the network and they are the primary contact between the national contact point and the school.
Tasks of the coordinating teacher:
Create your school’s profile page on the FoodEducators website. The coordinator teacher needs to first register on the website as a user and then create the profile of the school. The school’s profile displays the school’s name, address and website link. After registration, your school will appear on the members’ map.
Display FoodEducators School Network badge on your website and publish the description of the programme. You will receive these in the email after the school’s profile is created.
Only a registered user can sign up their school to the network. Log in or register a free account first.
